SAE 4145 alloy steel round bars offer high strength, toughness, and wear resistance.  Proper heat treatment enhances their mechanical properties, including hardness and tensile strength.

Mechanical Properties:

• Tensile Strength: Typically 850 - 1000 MPa
• Yield Strength (0.2% offset): Typically 620 - 800 MPa
• Elongation at Break: Typically 14 - 20%
• Hardness (Brinell): Typically 248 - 302 HB

Heat Treatment:

• Annealing: 830°C - 870°C, furnace cooling
• Normalizing: 870°C - 920°C, air cooling
• Hardening: 850°C - 900°C, oil quenching
• Tempering: 540°C - 680°C, air cooling
